The first release offers key features for your strategic and operational portfolio management in Clarity, with a focus on ease of use. With the help of the new features, you can easily optimize your portfolio while taking into account goals, budgets, and constraints.

Sort Investments by Drag & Drop: Prioritize with Ease and Take Full Control

Reorder your investments simply by dragging and dropping them into place. This intuitive interaction helps you visualize and communicate your strategic priorities directly within the portfolio view.

Target Widgets: Visualize Portfolio KPIs and Stay on Top of What Matters

Choose between two widget types:

• Goals: Track progress toward your portfolio goals.
• Constraints: Keep an eye on critical limits like cost or risks.

Each view can display up to five widgets, and your configuration is saved per view, making it easy to tailor insights to different portfolio perspectives.

Cut-off Line: Define What’s In and Instantly Shape Your Portfolio

Use the dynamic cut-off line to visually and functionally define which investments are included in your portfolio.

Move the line via drag & drop to get real-time feedback on:

• Resource Utilization: only included investments count.
• Target Widgets: instantly reflect what’s achievable within the selected scope.

This feature helps you quickly understand what’s possible, and what’s not, based on your current prioritization.

  Investment Highlighting for Selected Resources

  When you select a resource in the lower panel (which displays resource utilization), all investments in the upper panel that involve that resource are automatically highlighted with a blue background. This visual cue helps you quickly identify which investments are contributing to bottlenecks and pressure points, making it easier to take action and rebalance your portfolio.

  Initial Ranking Generator

  Skip the manual sorting and automatically generate an investment ranking based on existing scores. If your investments already have scoring data, you can instantly create or update the ranking – no manual effort required. This feature helps you quickly establish a data-driven prioritization baseline, which you can then fine-tune using drag & drop.

  Synchronization to Work Status

  You can synchronize the inclusion or exclusion of investments to the Work Status field. This allows you to show this information in other Clarity modules and make portfolio inclusion transparent.

  A toolbar button allows you to instantly jump to the cut-off line to help you to get fast to the point where investment inclusion is defined.

Requirements

To run itd Portfolio Optimizer 1.0.0, make sure your environment meets the following prerequisites:

• Clarity PPM version 16.2.2 or newer is required.
• If you have an existing installation of itd Advanced Resource Planning, it must be version 12.3.1 or higher.
