1. Resource Planning Meets Hierarchies

In the latest version 12.1.0, you can integrate the itd Advanced Resource Planning add-on into the Clarity “Hierarchies” module of the Investment type. This means you can also take your resource planning into account when using hierarchies and also make planning and visualization more efficient.

  • Integration via Blueprint and Channel: Implement the add-on by adding a channel for itd Advanced Resource Planning to a Hierarchy blueprint – similar to integrating the roadmap scenario mode.
  • Pre-filtered View: In the new mode, the view is automatically filtered so that only the investments of the current hierarchy are displayed.
  • New Field ‘Hierarchy Level’: This new field indicates the categorization of the investment within a hierarchy. In this way, you can sort the investments according to the respective level and maintain an overall view of the ranking within a hierarchy.

Note: Beta Feature

This mode is currently in the BETA phase. We look forward to your feedback! Your suggestions and experiences will help us to further improve the functionalities and tailor them to your needs.

2. Improvements of the Popular Roadmap Scenario Mode

In this popular feature, you can simulate and compare different planning scenarios, taking resources into account. Version 12.1.0 provides you with additional functionalities for this mode:

2.1 Own Utilization Filter for the “In Plan” Field

Previously, the resource utilization view could only be filtered based on the investment status. This is now different with the new version: a new filter is available that also allows you to filter the view according to the “In Plan” status – regardless of the investment status. The “In Plan” field can be displayed as a separate (sortable and filterable) column in roadmap scenario mode for a better overview.

2.2 Better Collaboration on Roadmap Scenarios
  • In the future, several users will be able to work on the same roadmap scenario.
  • Roadmap scenarios can now also be shared instead of only being saved for individual users as before.

2.3 Synchronization with Clarity

If you change allocations in the roadmap scenario mode of itd Advanced Resource Planning, these are transferred to Clarity. This means that changes to your resource planning are also visible in the capacity view of Clarity. This synchronization is unidirectional from itd Advanced Resource Planning to Clarity. Try it out for yourself!

3. Improved Usability

3.1 Customization of the Availability Popup
  • Individual Column Selection: The availability popup provides an overview of the scheduling of a resource. Define yourself which information is displayed in the availability popup.
  • Extend Fields: Admins can add additional fields via the configuration list.
  • Sort Function: The columns in the popup can now be sorted by clicking on the respective column header – for an even quicker overview.

3.2 Share Views via Link

Share views conveniently via URL links – available for all views that are not private.

3.3 Support of Virtual Attributes

Virtual attributes are user-defined data fields that display automatically calculated values or dynamic information without being stored directly in the database. With the latest version of itd Advanced Resource Planning, admins can create such virtual attributes via the configuration list.

This new feature can be used for investments of standardized types and non-virtual attributes, and therefore offers a wide range of possible applications.

4. Further Optimizations

Several improvements have been implemented in the new version to ensure stable and user-friendly use of itd Advanced Resource Planning:

  • Starting Processes in the Action Menu: now also works from Clarity version 16.2.2
  • Gantt Bar and Utilization Filter: optimized performance for server requests
  • Rights Management: no more erroneous error messages for investments
  • Assignment and Allocation Grid: reliable, immediate reload after changes in the settings
  • Time Slices in the Roadmap Scenario: correct transfer of the configuration
  • Utilization View: changes to values without histogram now possible

Requirements

For technical reasons, itd Advanced Resource Planning 12.1.0 requires Clarity 16.1.1 or newer. Clarity version 16.1 or newer is required to use the roadmap mode in itd Advanced Resource Planning.
